Making Sure that No Child is Left Behind
Parijat Academy is a non-profit organisation that offers holistic education to children from less privileged, tribal communities. Children of Parijat blossom in a stimulating and caring environment and are ready to take on the world with life skills and livelihood training.
Free Education
Every child deserves a good education. With free education, children from marginalised, tribal families in Assam can learn, grow and dream big.
Hostel Facilities
Children from remote villages stay in our accommodation free of charge. Members of our dedicated staff double up as their care-givers.
Holistic Development
Children need more than just classroom learning to thrive. We provide nutritious meals, physical education and training in life skills.
Vocational Skills
Parijat is more than a traditional school. We impart livelihood training that will help the children find employment upon graduating.

Our 20th Anniversary
Parijat Academy is 20 years old. We are marking the occasion by taking a pledge to grow our school’s capacity to 500 children by the end of this academic year.
We need your support to fulfill our commitment. You can help us grow the school, improve our facilities, and continue to nurture and educate children from needy families.

Become a Volunteer
Can I apply?
We welcome all students and professionals committed to our causes of poverty alleviation and education for all. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Our children often form relationships with the volunteers and look forward to seeing them regularly. As such, we require a minimum commitment of four weeks.
How can I help?
Volunteers undertake a number of tasks, including teaching classes, organising activities, assisting in daily administration and supporting our marketing and campaign activities. If you are keen to join us, highlight your preferred tasks while applying.
What can I gain by volunteering with Parijat Academy?
Parijat Academy volunteers have an opportunity to strengthen their inter-personal skills, learn about Assamese culture and form meaningful relationships with the children. Those who complete the minimum commitment period will receive a certificate that recognises their dedication to our cause.
