Your generosity is the spark we need to fuel our mission and kindle the dreams of countless children
Parijat Academy runs entirely on donations from well-wishers in India and abroad. But the funds we receive barely meet our growing needs. On the other hand, the interest in the community to send their children to our school is growing by the year.
Many of the children come from villages that are situated several km away. With no public transport in remote areas, children had to walk long distances to reach school every day. A few years ago, we decided to start a hostel for boys and girls of such children. Today, more than 60 students live in the hostel situated within our school campus.
The students are currently using a makeshift kitchen that is in an unhygienic condition to cook their own meals. With the onset of rains, it is extremely likely that the kitchen will get flooded and become unsanitary for the students and bring in unwarranted health issues. It is crucial that a dedicated space is provided to the hostel students urgently. Moreover, there is no pantry or dining facility. Children usually have their meals outside or in the classrooms.
We propose to build a kitchen-cum-dining facility immediately before the monsoon rains hit Assam. By providing a dedicated space for kitchen, pantry and dining, the students will be able to not only get food cooked in hygienic conditions but also have a space to eat their meals.
Every child’s smile is a beacon of hope and a testament to our mission. Together, let’s light up their lives and pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.
